Boria Mandlis (New Art at Bandidas)
We're happy to welcome the work of Boria Mandlis back to our walls. He first showed here as part of the Fireweed Art Show.
A bit about the artist:
Boria was born in Vilnius (Lithuania), then lived in St Petersburg (Russia), afterwards Tel Aviv (Israel), Amsterdam, San Francisco, CA (US) and now he is based in Vancouver BC (Canada). Boria graduated Visual communications and graphic design at the Goren School of Visual Communication, Emek Yisrael at 2001, and pursued a graphic and web designer career for over a decade. He was a founder and art director of the international Fancy colors studio. As of 2015 Boria is mostly focused on non-commercial art.
He experiments with different mediums and techniques, mostly focusing on monochromatic ink or ball pen drawings on wood. His art combines motives from the different cultures he has absorbed during his travels, as well as his additional passions--music and martial arts (aikido). His works are in a wide variety of styles, but recognizable for their motives and characters.
