Corinne Palmer (new art at Bandidas)
Familiar blue city skylines decorate the walls of Bandidas this month (and one roaming Sasquatch). The paintings of Vancouverite Corinne Palmer are uniquely charming, and are brightening up the walls of our restaurant.

Corinne Palmer captures the beauty she sees around her on the Southern British Columbia Coast, as well as Northern and Central Alberta, where she grew up. The Artist’s love of colour, pattern and storytelling shines through in depictions of crows and other birds, animals, bees, flowers, trees, rolling prairies and wide open spaces, massive skies and clouds, old farm buildings, power lines, fence lines, character houses, faces, forests, mountains, oceans, moon and stars. Her acrylic paintings range from ghostly birds in dramatic flowering trees to the awesome presence of a weathered grain elevator against a moody sky, created in styles that are impressionistic, realistic and illustrative.
“With each new painting, I grow and explore all that inspires me to create. Painting and making is something I am driven to do. Bringing joy and happiness to people through my art, using my gift of creativity, is who I am as a person. Now this may sound cheesy, but when my brush hits the canvas the whole world melts away – it is just my favourite music, the art and me.”
The Artists spends her days in her home studio in a corner of her Vancouver apartment. Her paintings are in private collections, and she currently exhibits at Pacific Arts Market (1448 West Broadway, Vancouver). She also enjoys creating commissioned works for clients, including unique pet portraits.
