Announcing: 3rd Annual International Women's Day Fundraiser

WHERE: BANDIDAS TAQUERIA, 2781 COMMERCIAL DRIVE
WHEN: MARCH 8TH, 2020, ALL DAY / NIGHT (9:00AM UNTIL LATE)

We’re pleased to announce our third annual Women’s Day fundraiser. As a thriving female-owned business, we want to contribute to the movement that has paved the way for our success. We believe that by continuing to lift up women, we can cultivate a culture of equality that will benefit the entire community.

While we know that the world faces myriad inequalities, we feel particularly well situated to organizing this fundraiser around women’s issues. We will continue to look for ways to contribute to our community as our capacity grows.

FUNDRAISER, MARCH 8th

On March 8th, for the entire day, we will be donating 100% of our profits to eight different organizations serving women. This year, the organizations that we plan to work with are WAVAW, Canadian Council of Muslim Women, Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre, Native Women’s Association of Canada, WISH Drop-in Centre Society, Trans Lifeline, Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women, and the Moose Hide Campaign.

IWD ART SHOW, MARCH 1st - APRIL 21st

If you can’t make it to our fundraiser on the 8th, our International Women’s Day art show will run this year from March 1st to April 21st. Seven local artists will present work dealing with feminist themes. The proceeds from any sales will go to each individual artist.

THE IMAGE

Our IWD image, “Relationship Goals” was created by Steph Gwynne for our first Women’s Day fundraiser three years ago (check it out above, on the right). If you love this image as much as we do, buy a framed print of it on the 8th and for the entire month of March (while supplies last). All proceeds from the print will go towards the fundraiser!
