Capetownape (New Art at Bandidas)

The Earth Day fundraiser was a huge success, and we adored having some colourful East Van student art on our walls for a few weeks. As is usual at the time of the art swap, the restaurant has undergone a bit of a transformation with the hanging of Daniel G. Poggenpoel’s (aka Capetownape) work. He hails from Cape Town, South Africa and has been living in Vancouver for the last 8 years. His work is influenced by graffiti, cartoons, comics, classical art and street art, and he produces black and white surreal works with a certain dark edge to them.
