Thanks to everyone who came out to support our third annual fundraiser in celebration of Earth Day! On April 28th we donated 100% of our profits (+ additional donations from customers and our awesome event partners) to RAVEN Trust, an organization that raises legal defense funds for indigenous groups working for environmental change.

The Earth Day fundraiser was a huge success, and we adored having some colourful East Van student art on our walls for a few weeks. As is usual at the time of the art swap, the restaurant has undergone a bit of a transformation with the hanging of Daniel G. Poggenpoel’s (aka Capetownape) work.

The works comes from three East Van classrooms whom we connected with after our Fireweed fundraiser and art show on Inauguration Day. The classes visited Bandidas to study art and its role in democracy, and returned to the classrooms to create their own works of response to the election results.
